In meditation we can regard every inhalation and every exhalation as completely new and unique. Also every thought that seems to distract us and every return to the concentration on our breathing is completely new and unique. There is nothing repeating itself or continuing as it was before if you just look closely enough at everything you perceive.
By practising in this way we train our minds to be open, curious and interested in every moment and in everything it has to offer.
The ability to start anew is crucial for mental and emotional freedom.
